The Government Palace is the place where the president works. It is on Paraguayo Independiente Street. Its construction began in 1857 under the leadership of the English architect Ali Taylor. This palace was the residence of General Francisco Solano Lopez, president of Paraguay at that time.After the Triple Alliance War (1864-1870) it was abandoned until 1892.
