I am Gustavo Medeiros. I am 14 years old, I live in Asuncion, Paraguay ... I have brown eyes and black hair. I like to play soccer, games on the computer and playstation. My school´s name is Colegio del Sol. I am in 8th Grade. My dream is to travel around the world because I want to meet other people and learn about the culture of other countries.
Hi my name is Silvana and I was born in Paraguay. I like to dance, act, sing, hang out with my friends, and I also like to go to parties
Paraguay is a very hot country, but is filled with nature, I think that we are very lucky to live here because we have water and fruits. My cousin told me once that whan she was in Germany she couldn't buy fruits because they were very expensive and my grandmother told me that when she was in France she couldn't take a bath every day. Those are the reasons why I think that we are are lucky. What I don't like of this country is that it is very hot, I hate heat
If you come here you can come to Santisima Trinidad. There you will see the Jesuits Ruins and in Asuncion you can go to the Panteon de los Heroes, there you can see our country's heroes
Here in summer we drink something that is called terere, it's cold water with a traditional herb called yerba, and on winter we drink something called mate that is the same as terere but instead of being cold water is hot water
Our traditional languages are Spanish and Guarani, don't ask me anything about Guarani, I barely know how to say "my horse" or "my dog" and that's pretty much everything I know.
My name is Jiya Lalwani. I am 13 years old and I’m from Colegio Del Sol. I’m in 8th grade. My favourite subject at school is History and Geography. I practise piano, play tennis and go for chess classes. My favourite colour is blue. I love to surf on the internet and chat with many friends. Also I like to see a lot of movies and TV series in English and in Spanish. My favourite movie is Harry Potter and my favourite TV series is Latin American Idol. I also like to read books and listen to music. My favourite book is Harry Potter and I like to listen to a lot of English and Spanish music because mostly I listen to radio Disney.

Paraguay is known for its historical places to visit like Cabildo, Panteon de los Heroes and Manzana de la Rivera. Those places tell you more about the Paraguay’s Independence. Also we have the Iglesia de Yaguaron and Caacupe, Ruinas Jesuitas that tell you more about the 19th century. I love Paraguay because of its history and greenery. Today, I think Paraguay should change in some aspects like corruption, poor people and education. But if a tourist comes to Paraguay he or she can eat our typical food such as chipa, mbeju and pastel mandio, etc. At first some tourists say that Paraguay is ugly, poor and doesn’t have any future but when they come they fall in love and don’t want to leave.

MORE PICS FROM THE HEROES' VAULT

THE GOVERNMENT PALACE

The Government Palace is the place where the president works. It is on Paraguayo Independiente Street. Its construction began in 1857 under the leadership of the English architect Ali Taylor. This palace was the residence of General Francisco Solano Lopez, president of Paraguay at that time.
After the Triple Alliance War (1864-1870) it was abandoned until 1892.

THE LEGISLATIVE PALACE

Teddy Bear is in front of the Legislative Palace in downtown Asuncion. This is its new headquarter since 2003.

Inside the Heroes Vault

Panteon de los Heroes - Heroes' Vault

The National Vault of the Heroes began to be built in 1864 and it was finished in 1936, after the Chaco War. Inside there are the remains of some heroes of Paraguay as well as two unknown soldiers. It is also the Oratory of the Virgin of Asuncion.

I’m Valentina Conti Saguier. I was born on the April 8th, 1995 in Asunción, Paraguay. I enjoy reading, being outdoors, watching TV, eating tasty foods, going to the cinema, hanging out with my friends, dancing ballet and modern dance, going shopping, etc.

The things I dislike are going to school, studying, and doing housework.

I live in Paraguay. Here we have many traditions, like drinking ‘tereré’, eating “chipa”, and we love taking naps after lunch. I like my country.

Hello

I am Paula. I am from Asunción, Paraguay. I like going out to parties, playing with my dog and surfing the web. I really hate spiders, I'm phobic to them, I have been since I was a little girl; I also hate some sweets, I HATE marshmallows and cotton candy.

My country is really great! Some typical foods are: “Chipa Guazu”, “Sopa Paraguaya”, “Arroz Kesu”, etc. My favorite tradition is our dance clothes, to dance we use a white shirt called "Typoi" and a long skirt that we put on our waist, we also use roses in our braided hair (Sometimes we put false braided hair because ours isn't long enough) and my personal favorite part is MAKEUP. We put on rose red lipsticks, we use blush, mascara and eye pencil.

Paraguay is also known for being one of the only countries that remains using our native language. Last but not least the most typical drinks in Paraguay are "Mate" and "Terere" we make them by putting herb in a special cup and pouring water in it!

My name is Paloma Giménez. I was born on July 13, 1995. I was born in Asuncion, Paraguay. I go to Colegio del sol. I’m on 8th grade. My mom’s name is Graciela and my dad’s name is Jaime. I have 2 brothers and one sister.

I like to hang out with my friends, eat ice cream, watch TV, dance, sleep and use the computer.

I don’t like school, chimichanga, and rude people.

Hello, my name is Juan. I’m 14 years old and I live in Paraguay. I like sleeping, eating, using the computer and playing rugby. Paraguay is a rather primitive country compared to other countries. but it’s an old country with many traditions; for example the drinks: in winter we drink "mate" and in the summer "terere" both are made with “yerba mate” but mate is drunk with warm water and terere with cold water. The winters are rather cold and the summers are very warm. It gets to 43 degrees Celsius and in the winter it gets to 7 degrees. The most popular sport is football and there are many fields where football is played. It’s very normal to have a family lunch on Friday. There are quite a lot of things to do but it is not as much as in other countries. The country is separated in departments or provinces. Most of the country’s economy depends on cattle and meat is one of the main export products.

Hello

I’m Horacio but my friends call me Hora. I’m 14 years old. I like doing sports like swimming, football, tennis and rugby. My favorite food is hamburger with egg and bread. My birthday is on 17 of June. I insist you to come to my country, Paraguay. It’s very nice. Paraguay is a bilingual country; it has two official languages: Spanish and Guarani.

Paraguay is a beautiful country; there are a lot of very good schools. In Paraguay there is a traditional day, with their own food and music and dance. If you want to visit Paraguay, there are some beautiful places that you can visit, for example: Las Ruinas Jesuíticas, el Salto Monday, and El Cerro Tres Kandú. Teddy Bear is in front of a place called "Cabildo."

This is the place where tourists can go to know more about the Paraguayan culture. It is a museum now. This is shown to visitors through images and objects. Visitors can also see Asuncion during the twentieth century.
We can find the President's chair used by Don Carlos Antonio Lopez, the first constitutional president of Paraguay.
